Our Decision For The Future
The Crossing Congregation’s Discernment

Dear Crossing family and friends,

In light of Pastor Andy’s announcement of his planned one-year sabbatical, we met Sunday, May 18th, as a congregation, with our District Superintendent, David Nieda, to determine the best next step for The Crossing.  Given the loss of Andy’s leadership and our limited resources to sustain regular worship, everyone in attendance agreed it would be best to end the formal ministry of The Crossing.

This decision was made after many months of discernment meetings and multiple changes in worship to try to maintain all we love about The Crossing while making it more sustainable.  There are many people with heavy hearts as we see The Crossing’s regular worship and events come to a close.  However, we all want to honor Andy’s discernment journey, recognize the hard work of those who’ve committed extra time over the last few months and thank everyone who has supported The Crossing’s ministry over time.

The Crossing touched many people through Andy’s teachings, new connections and friendships, and outreach to the community.  We can now take those blessings onto the next step in our faith journeys; continuing to be a light to others in the world around us and in our next faith community.  We also can maintain our personal ties and help each other make new faith connections.

We are all very grateful for our experience with The Crossing.  “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (Psalm 118:29 NIV)

Peace and Blessings,
The Crossing Discernment Participants
